RealStew.Com: Your one-stop-website!

By: Glenalyn Maian Garcia Fernandez

Advancement on technology is now rapidly moving forward - computers, smart phones, tablets and the Internet have already been part of our everyday living. Well, personally I can’t live a day without posting a single status or having my selfies posted on my Facebook account, or tweeting and most of the time ranting about my emotions. Yeah, that became of a routine for me. I also play games and applications, chat with my friends, search everything on Google, and even shop online just like what most women nowadays do. But I must say, I’m really having a hard time doing all of these stuff at the same time, and having numerous tabs opened just makes me snappy, and my internet connection slow. But not for long after I discovered an awesome website where I can do all of these at the same time without the difficulties.

Yeah, you read it right! Who would have thought that different social networking sites, online shops, online games, search engines, and many more can be combined, and can be ran using just that website alone? I’m sure many of you couldn’t wait any longer for me to spill the beans, then here it goes, the website I’ve been pertaining to is the www.realstew.com. Oopss! Before checking on the site, let me first give you a quick tour and a sneak peek of what’s in store of this start-up website.

Just like what I’ve been saying a while back, you can do almost everything you often do in the Internet. Basically, this site focuses on three branches: communication, knowledge and business. Buttons on the upper interface show the different applications and other sites that can be linked on your account. You can do Facebooking, and you can also tweet and retweet here, and play games too. This is also a go-to site for the business- oriented people out there who want to negotiate with their clients and customers but don’t want to spend much of a stress.

This indeed is a very practical website!  See? You need not to open numerous tabs and websites just to do your daily Internet stuff. With Realstew, you can possibly do all of that at the same time. So what are you guys waiting for?

Is Conventional Art Dying?

It’s no secret to anyone that art is taught completely divergent nowadays than before. What was once immeasurable and guided by unbound expression has completely flipped to pushing creativity through modern method. Ipad painting apps, mobile sketchbooks, and outline draft for notebooks.
I question everyone, "Is conventional art dying? And does technology has something to do about it?"
Art is intangible, and so it lends itself to many different interpretations. What captures one viewer may not capture another in the least. But art shares a common spectacle out of any human, and that is emotion.

At a small space in Tapuac District, Dagupan City lies a cavalcade of the conformists, where the emphasized subjective expressions of artists are truly welcomed.

Titled “Liing” - Gumising at Managinip, the event was organized by Liongoren Gallery through its vision of contributing Filipino culture in the country, and providing exhibition space for recreation and learning.

The small show and the gallery can get as many as 300 entries, and Pangasinan artists strive to incite the message across that conventional art is already plunked on its last legs. It is now the time to pick up the traditional brushes again, and start making art.

What pours out of an artist onto canvas or other support is their emotional response to their subject. A whole range of emotions can find themselves on canvas. I’ve asked some of the aspiring artists who with the likes of  Amorsolo and Luna, will be rousing the resting hearts of Filipinos towards the fading conventional art scene.

Watch the rest of the clip in Pangasinan Watch Aug. 6 Ep. (starts at 5:36 - 10:26)

Mister Paco Santos, the acting guru for these young artists, says that in today’s struggling art market, delimited with what we experience from technology, takes away creativity, and the revelation of the real art.

All too often we hear comments like, "I don't like art.", "I don't understand it." These are from people who rarely expose themselves to art, perhaps, moved by a piece before. A fear might be growing in this planet soon, and that negative trend in future potential-art-mind could become a crisis.
I ask again, "Is conventional art dying?"

LBTV Interview: Lovely Bulatao

This interview was concocted from Lifestyle & BeauTV's first episode: Back to School.

BEYOND THE CURVE AND BEAUTY: LOVELY BULATAO
"It was such twists and turns for everyone back there, and what happens next is not so predictable yet very possible."

Lovely Bulatao is an aspiring novelist, a young mum of a princess, and a blogger from Pangasinan.

1) What to wear during first college day of classes?
For the freshmen, it’s about fitting in and making friends, the sophomores, about the awesome parties they’re all gonna be attending, the juniors, about the hectic schedules and internships they’ll be facing, and the seniors, all about the stressful thesis writing, and productions, and not to mention, the tingling feeling as they’re about to leave college life and become the professionals they all dreamed to become.
We all have mixed feelings when it comes to our first days in school. Some are excited, but mostly are anxious on what to wear just to stand out and make a good impression.
TIPS
a. Don’t wear high- heeled shoes (3 inches or more). Please spare your feet from unwanted blisters. And oh, imagine the flight of stairs! Cringe! Sandals and flats are more comfortable to wear.

b. Play with colors. Sure the summer’s over, but no one said you can't wear summer colors and floral prints.

c. Keep it simple. Do not overdress. I know you’re into fashion but you’re in school, and not in some kind of a runway show.

d. You can wear a cap or a beanie as long as you remove it inside the class room. Believe me, it’ll save you from bed/bad hair days.

e. Minimize your accessories. The layered necklace will do you no good, it’ll probably just get tangled up with your ID strap. An important accessory you must always wear as a student is a trusty wristwatch.

f. In choosing a bag, pick the ones that is spacious enough for your notes and laptop.

2)  Is fashion a good way to set in a good impression?

First impression lasts, but it will never define you. Sure, FASHION IS AWESOME, and you can set a good impression with it. But what can help you stand out is your personality. Don’t chase fashion trends just so to conform and fit in a group or the society. Wear appropriate clothes that you’re comfortable in. Just be yourself, it should be style over fashion.

CHARLES RENT A CAR: Serving you is a feather on our cap!

A bad-ass hero wouldn't be the same without his trusty coast, nor would a princess reach his prince charming before midnight without a stallion and carriage. Similarly, it is essential for most couples to pick the perfect ride that will send them off on their happily ever after.

There definitely is no other element of surprise than arriving on the venue with the most seamless and shiny wedding vehicle you and the love of your life could opt for. Talk about James Bond’s Mercedes-Benz W120 in Goldfinger… genuinely gold!

Selecting A Wedding Car
Wedding cars play a key role in making extraordinary appearances, and nothing beats the pleasure of traveling in lavish and style. That’s why selecting the right wedding car to match the style and theme of your event is crucial.

Vintage cars are generally built during the period after World War I until the 1930's. They are usually defined by their resemblance to horse-drawn carriages. On the other hand, classic cars were built right after that period, and usually have fully-closed bodies and integrated fenders. They are no longer in production, but are still very popular.

Modern cars, in contrast, are generally late model luxury limousines and vehicles such as Mercedes, BMW and Ferrari’s. Limousines are a classic choice for wedding cars.

Does size matter?
The first thing to do when organizing your wedding car is to determine how many cars are required. Will the entire entourage be transported by a single car or by several cars? The style of vehicle you select will also determine how many people it will seat.

Is character important?
It’s important to make sure that you choose a company that can handle your wedding transportation needs. To reduce any potential problems while, ensure that the wedding car you select is actually owned by the operator, and is regularly maintained for convenient reasons.

On the second episode of Lifestyle& BeauTV, Maian and I talked about wedding and its demanding preparations. Since it was month of June then, it was definitely sensible to tap the subject for us to be able to help those would-be husbands and wives lighten the pressure they are to face.

One of our stops was Charles Rent A Car, which through sheer hard work, patience, perseverance, and good business tact; it was able to establish its name in the car rental scene. A couple must remember that a long established wedding car hire company generally means many years of valuable experience providing wedding car hire services.

Charles Rent A Car is known as the most reliable, affordable, safest, and on time service in the industry. Satisfied clients recommend them for their friends and relatives transportation requirements because with the company’s services, you surely get what you pay for.

They opened branches at Urdaneta City and Dagupan City, as part of their vision in bringing quality services closer to their target market. Today, they still strive to be the best in the business for the generations to come, and to be the top choice for all car rental and bridal occasions in the North.

With Charles Rent A Car, you can enjoy the royal treatment and revel in their choice of your luxury vehicle.

Road Less Travelled

A pair of feet diverged in gray sand,
and sorry I could not travel both
and I be one traveler, long I stood.”

Two paths: One well traveled and respected,
But one overgrown and neglected.

To be alone and take the “Road less Traveled”
Or to be safe and take the well traveled lane with someone.
I did what was expected, and turned from the neglected,
Because that’s how it’s suppose to be.

However, I often ponder:
The lesser traveled lane,
and the time I do squander.

Thoughts are hard to ascertain.
I have decided hence
that when two paths diverge in gray sand;
sometimes the path you take makes no
difference at all.

Pangasinan Social Media Day

While Pangasinan is bearing a 2- signal storm, it did not distress the excitement of the atmosphere. In fact, the social media people who gathered for the Social Media Day celebration were all in smiles upon arriving at the venue, Star Plaza, Dagupan City.

In attendance were GBG Dagupan members, bloggers, social media practitioners, mobile app and game developers, and students. Mr. Roland Umangay, one of the field reporters of the leading media broadcasting company outlet in the north, did not just show up. He brought the house down by singing at the top of his lungs during the karaoke part. And while he was at his game phase, others were spirited about what’s in store for the day.
Ms. Vanj Padilla with Roland Umangay
Google+ was the subject. GBG co- manager JR Padilla discussed how competent the multilingual social networking and identity service is compared against other prominent social networking sites. Despite being known of an early criticism as a ghost town, Google+ proved false by having smartly surpassed Twitter this January as the 2nd most popular social network in the US, with over 2,500 adult internet users (Burst Media). Let us also take time to admire its new design interface: a three column-wide grid of cards and a full- screen width of high-resolution photos and videos, where an option to switch to a one-column view is provided. I believe that this idea of exposing visitors to more visual content at once is genius.
JR Padilla, in his discussion about Google+
Its features (Stream, Circles, Messenger, Hashtag, Games, etc.) and their uses were also highlighted but there were two things that surely captured the attention of everybody, and those were: Auto Awesome and Hangouts.

After Auto Enhance, come along a new innovation: the Auto Awesome. By detecting the kinds of photos you take, Google will make necessary improvements. For example, if you upload a series of similar photos taken in a short period of time, it will automatically make an animated GIF out of it.  It will also make auto panoramas and HDR photos if you upload the right kinds of photos.

Google is clearly leveraging its substantial cloud facilities to try to make Google+ the best home for photos online. Here's an example I created using the feature:
TalkTV Global's cameraman, Romulus Gutierrez during a photo shoot.
In addition to this photo feature, Google's heavily-rumored unified messaging service, Hangouts, is integrated into the Google+ redesign. Google has released Hangout apps for Android, iOS, and Chrome (as well as integration with Gmail). Instead of a mess of Google Talk, Google Messenger, and Video Hangouts, it's all streamlined across platforms.

The Hangout app has more mobile messaging DNA as it presents users with a list of recent text conversations instead of a contact list. Also, each conversation gets its own name, like a chat room, and can be labeled with an image or one of Google's new emoji (Japanese term for the ideograms or smileys). Thanks to Google's cloud, Hangouts can sync everywhere - giving people access to conversations on any device.

And after a learnt discussion, what better way to conclude a wonderful event than by having loads and loads of photos.

The Massage Habitat: Turn stress into energy!

Stress is inevitable, and while we can’t escape the strain from work and everyday crisis, we are however entitled to our own version of relaxation. Some do yoga and meditation, but considerably, more people indulge on the benefits provided by body massages and healthy spa. I bear witness to that because for Lifestyle & BeauTV’s 3rd episode, wellness was experienced to another level - more nourishing and invigorating.

The Massage Habitat is a haven on its own. Upon reaching its door of bliss, you’ll readily be welcomed by bamboo curtains and earth and fire elements such as their white stones and lit candles, making the place harmonious and good- natured. The architecture of the spa complements the business’ wide and appealing services with a contemporary flavor and heartiness.
Also, its health and beauty remedies are based on entirely organic and natural ingredients and done in the hands of their well-trained and experienced therapists.

Truly, The Massage Habitat is a fusion of Asian influences which provides that sense of well being, renewal, and rejuvenation that we all need for once in a while.
