LBTV Interview: Lovely Bulatao

This interview was concocted from Lifestyle & BeauTV's first episode: Back to School.

BEYOND THE CURVE AND BEAUTY: LOVELY BULATAO
"It was such twists and turns for everyone back there, and what happens next is not so predictable yet very possible."

Lovely Bulatao is an aspiring novelist, a young mum of a princess, and a blogger from Pangasinan.

1) What to wear during first college day of classes?
For the freshmen, it’s about fitting in and making friends, the sophomores, about the awesome parties they’re all gonna be attending, the juniors, about the hectic schedules and internships they’ll be facing, and the seniors, all about the stressful thesis writing, and productions, and not to mention, the tingling feeling as they’re about to leave college life and become the professionals they all dreamed to become.
We all have mixed feelings when it comes to our first days in school. Some are excited, but mostly are anxious on what to wear just to stand out and make a good impression.
TIPS
a. Don’t wear high- heeled shoes (3 inches or more). Please spare your feet from unwanted blisters. And oh, imagine the flight of stairs! Cringe! Sandals and flats are more comfortable to wear.

b. Play with colors. Sure the summer’s over, but no one said you can't wear summer colors and floral prints.

c. Keep it simple. Do not overdress. I know you’re into fashion but you’re in school, and not in some kind of a runway show.

d. You can wear a cap or a beanie as long as you remove it inside the class room. Believe me, it’ll save you from bed/bad hair days.

e. Minimize your accessories. The layered necklace will do you no good, it’ll probably just get tangled up with your ID strap. An important accessory you must always wear as a student is a trusty wristwatch.

f. In choosing a bag, pick the ones that is spacious enough for your notes and laptop.

2)  Is fashion a good way to set in a good impression?

First impression lasts, but it will never define you. Sure, FASHION IS AWESOME, and you can set a good impression with it. But what can help you stand out is your personality. Don’t chase fashion trends just so to conform and fit in a group or the society. Wear appropriate clothes that you’re comfortable in. Just be yourself, it should be style over fashion.
